A 45-year-old Deposit man employed by the Harpursville Central School District was given a court appearance ticket Tuesday after he was accused of unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

The charge followed a search of the high school building and an adjoining parking
lot by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and the Southern Tier Police K-9 association, according to Deputy Daniel Wilcox.

During the search, the dog made a “hit” on a blue vehicle, whose owner was identified as Patrick Summers, 45, of Deposit.

Wilcox said a pipe, some other substances, and baggies containing a substance identified as marijuana were found on Summers.

School officials said Summers was employed in academic intervention services.
Summers is to appear in Town of Colesville Court later this month.
