Niagara Regional Police K-9 Tracks Burglary Suspect
NIAGARA REGIONAL POLICE SERVICE
On Sunday May 28, 2006 at approximately 4:14 hrs, police responded to an alarm at the Caisse Populaire Bank, located at 6700 Morrison St., Niagara Falls. An investigation revealed that the building had been entered by cutting a hole in the roof of an adjoining business, Niagara Tours. Culprits then proceeded to smash through the wall into the bank. Once inside, the vault was attacked but not entered. Officers set up a perimeter, and K9 Officer Pam Carter and PSD Scout attended, tracking from the premise to an address on Burdette Dr., where a male suspect was arrested for Break and Enter. At this time #2 District Street Crime Unit, initiated a investigation. Shortly after 2 search warrants were executed, one on Burdette Dr., the other on a Storage Unit Rental business on Dorchester Rd. Through the warrants approximately $125,000.00 worth of power tools and construction equipment was seized. The equipment was identified to be from a Break and Enter that occurred earlier this month in the Timmins area.
