Niagara Regional Police K-9 Tracks Home Invasion Suspect 10km
NIAGARA REGIONAL POLICE SERVICE
On Thursday 24th January 2008, at 3:15 a.m., a St. Catharines residence awoke to find an unknown
male searching through her home. The citizen contacted police and the male fled from the 3rd Avenue
residence. Numerous officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service attended immediately and an
organized track of the culprit was conducted using the Canine Team of Constable Pam Carter and
Police Service dog – Scout.
Police were determined to apprehend the culprit and tracked the male for over ten kilometers through
various terrain including a ravine and thick bush area.
The male was apprehended while attempting to cross a golf course.
Marc Lavalley 30 years old of St. Catharines is charged with Break Enter and Commit Theft and
Failing To Comply With His Probation Conditions. Lavalley will attend a bail hearing in St. Catharines
court on 24th January 2008.
