Tioga County Sheriff's K-9 locates rape suspect
On April 29th, 2004 the Tioga County Sheriff's Office investigated the forcible rape of a 15 year old female in the Town of Spencer. While attempting to locate the suspect there was a tip that he was located at a trailer park just outside of Spencer in the Town of Van Etten in Chemung County. Deputy Williams along with his K-9 Bolt responded to that location where they were told that he had recently ran out the back door of the trailer. Deputy Williams and K-9 Bolt began a track of the felony rape suspect at the back door of the trailer. K-9 Bolt indicated a track and followed the suspect into the woods behind the trailer park. K-9 Bolt then indicated a find and located the suspect laying down in the brush attempting to hide from the Deputy and the K-9. The suspect was apprehended without any further incident and is currently in the Tioga County Jail.
